Navacon was awarded a contract by the Regional Municipality of Waterloo to lead a transformative multi-year reconstruction of King Street in Cambridge, from Dover Street to Bishop Street. The project addressed the aging roadway and underground infrastructure, ensuring a safer and more accessible urban corridor. The scope included replacing concrete curb and gutter, sanitary and storm sewers, watermain, and sidewalks, while adding on-road cycling lanes to support sustainable transportation. Street lighting, GRT stops, and streetscaping were upgraded with new trees, benches, and decorative pavers, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics. Private properties, including driveways and boulevard areas, were carefully restored following construction. The project not only revitalized the streetscape but also strengthened the underground infrastructure, leaving a lasting impact on the community.
